Events planned to showcase Sri Lanka’s IT and BPM expertise

The Information and Communication Technology Agency of Sri Lanka (ICTA) is leading a trade mission to Australia in the week of 24 October 2016. The tour is to promote Sri Lanka as the ideal sourcing destination for Australian companies for IT and business process management (BPM).

“Sri Lanka’s profile as a sourcing destination is very attractive for Australian companies,” said Arunesh Peter, ICTA’s Director of Projects, who will be leading the trade delegation.

“We have the highest tertiary education levels in South Asia, a vibrant technology and innovative start-up sector, and the most UK-recognised management accounting qualifications of any country outside the United Kingdom.”

“Commercial office space and wages are significantly lower when compared to a number of other countries in our region and, at the same time, telecommunications, utilities and transportation in Colombo are high-performing and reliable. Sri Lanka also has a comprehensive regulatory and legal framework, with a focus on cyber security, privacy and protection of intellectual property.”

ICTA will be hosting business networking evenings in Sydney on Monday, 24 October, in Brisbane on Thursday, 27 October and Melbourne on Thursday, 28 October. Details on the events and how to register for an invitation can be found at

A highlight of the Sri Lankan visit is Gartner Symposium/ITXpo on the Gold Coast, with ICTA involved at the conference as an exhibitor and sponsor. The Sri Lanka Pavilion at Gartner Symposium will feature representation from a number of the companies participating in the trade mission.
